Chapters of Pheasants Forever

Pheasants Forever is a grassroots organization in which members form chapters to raise funds for habitat initiatives and youth events. Each chapter is comprised of 4 to 6 officers and a committee of event volunteers. Chapters typically raise funds through an annual fundraising banquet in their local community. Banquets serve as the highlight of a chapter's year and are attended by a few hundred local residents who buy a ticket for the event that includes their annual Pheasants Forever membership and the evening's meal. Raffles, live and silent auctions, games, wildlife art, shotguns, and hunting gear are some of the features to this exciting community event.

When Pheasants Forever formed in 1982, the founding Board of Directors conceived a simple, and yet, revolutionary concept, unique among conservation organizations. That model empowers all Pheasants Forever chapters with 100% decision making power over the funds they generate locally. This model has helped make Pheasants Forever tremendously effective at producing local habitat results, while the national structure of the organization provides the collection of more than 600 chapters a voice on conservation policy at the state and national levels.
